Scanning Services for the Manufacturing Industry
Manufacturers and Digitizing
Digital scanning services for manufacturing helps businesses strive to transition from analog formats to digital ones. These services allow manufacturers to quickly and accurately convert their paper, blueprint drawings, microfilm, microfiche, and aperture cards into digital images that are easier to store and manage. Additionally, all industries are concerned about the image deterioration of their film-based documents after many years of use and storage – thus the urgency to digitize their data.
Microfacs has been providing scanning services to the manufacturing industry since 1987. We have the capabilities and experience to help any manufacturing company digitize their processes.
Microfilm/Microfiche for Manufacturing
Our team uses state-of-the-art SunRise Apollo roll microfilm/microfiche scanners to scan microfilm on a 24/7 basis with a daily production capability of over 800,000 images, as well as scanning over 1.5 billion images to date. With our experience and attention to detail, you’ll get the highest-quality image from your different types of paper, blueprints, 16mm microfilm, 35mm microfilm, jacketed microfiche and C.O.M. microfiche.
Our microfilm to image digitizing services allows you to convert your film to a variety of image formats including TIFF, JPEG, GIF, JIF, Greyscale, PDF and searchable PDF.
Aperture Cards for Manufacturing
Our Wickes and Wilson aperture card scanning equipment reads the Hollerith code, and our proprietary software can automatically capture a digital index off that Hollerith punch at no charge. Manual indexing of the cards can also be done if the cards are not punched, and these services will be priced on an individual basis. Aperture Cards Scanning for Boiler Manufacturers Case Study
All manufacturers need to keep documentation including blueprints and schematics for any parts through the lifetime of the equipment.
Microfacs recently completed an aperture card scanning project of 275,000 cards for a Boiler Company established in 1933. They are still providing boiler parts for boilers that are decades old. Having the parts and schematics in a digitized format enables the client to quickly identify which specific part is needed. Because of the age of the cards, the client was worried about deterioration of the card as well as the image quality on the card.
