Microfilm scanning is performed using SunRiseĀ® Apollo roll film scanners. To date, Microfacs has scanned over 1.5 billion images with a daily capacity of 400,000 images. Supported by an experienced team, rigorous quality standards, and a strong customer-service focus, we deliver consistent, high-quality results across all standard microfilm formats, including 16mm, 35mm, and 105mm. Our microfilm digitization services produce a range of output formats, including TIFF, JPEG, grayscale images, and searchable PDFs.

Our production workflow is designed to ensure the secure handling and preservation of your original film throughout the entire process. Each project is logged and tracked by a production manager and undergoes quality and safe data control throughout the project. Upon completion, your original materials are shipped back and digital images are securely returned via FTP or secure digital hard drive.
Image Processing & Enhancement:
Microfacs can enhance digital microfilm images to improve clarity, readability, and overall image quality. Using a customized software, Microfacs can adjust brightness and contrast, reduce background noise, sharpen text and lines, and correct orientation or alignment issues. These enhancements help restore aging or poor-quality microfilm, making the content easier to view, reproduce, and convert to digital formats while preserving the integrity of the original records.
Additional Services Provided:
Indexing:
Indexing documents is the process of organizing and labeling document content so it can be easily searched and retrieved. At Microfacs, we can create indexes based on keywords, addresses, policy, case, and student numbers, etc. Our customers use this indexing service to quickly locate specific information without reading entire files. This improves efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility, especially when working with large collections of documents.
Searchable PDF/OCR:
Converting your digital documents to Searchable PDF (also known as Optical Character Recognition or OCR) format turns scanned files into searchable and editable text, making your information easier to use. With OCR/Searchable PDF files, you can quickly find keywords, copy text, and reduce the time spent searching through paper or image-based documents. This helps your company stay organized, improve productivity, and get more value from your records.
